The HLTAID003 Provide first aid is the most comprehensive first aid course available and the minimum requirement for first aid and covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The first aid course applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Training and Assessment are delivered Face to Face (6 hours)
Plus + Prior to attending the face-to-face training session, you are required to complete the pre-course reading, and complete the quiz and bring it to the training session on the day. This is a self-paced, self-directed, and mandatory component of the course. The actual number of study hours required for each learner varies depending on the learners existing knowledge, skills and experience.

This first aid course will provide you with an understanding of how to apply immediate care of an injured or suddenly sick casualty be that first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until more advanced medical help arrives. Appropriate for a wide range of situations including the workplace, home or neighborhood.
HLTAID003 Provide first aid course is the most current standard and applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

On the day after successful completion of the training course:
Current industry standards require HLTAID003 Provide first aid to be updated every 3 years. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends the CPR component is updated annually.
The participant will show the ability to complete tasks outlined in the criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role.
